Dr Martyn has a life-long connection to the local community around Bull Creek and Willetton. He completed his medical studies at The University of Notre Dame in 2012 and after spending some time in critical care medicine moved into general practice. He has interests in chronic disease management, Indigenous health, and all aspects of family medicine. He is also currently practicing in drug and alcohol recovery.
Dr Martyn has a background of prior research in nanotechnology at The University of Oxford and also holds degrees in pharmacology and engineering from The University of Western Australia. He has an interest in innovation and technology transfer, bringing a vision to foster research and development of sustainable technologies as a means for improving health, well-being, and quality of living. He is a founding director and Chair of Board for the not-for-profit organisation FISH – Foundation for Indigenous Sustainable Health.
